Cooper Medical School of Rowan University

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University now offers an accelerated three-year MD degree pathway for students interested in primary care or pediatrics. The Three-Year Accelerated Primary Care Track, known as PC3, allows students to earn their MD degrees faster and at a reduced cost. Highly motivated students are accepted into PC3, which also offers conditional acceptance into pediatric and internal medicine residency programs at Cooper University Hospital. The PC3 Program supports Cooper Medical School of Rowan University’s mission to train the next generation of primary care physicians to provide patient-centered, humanistic and culturally-sensitive care for patients and families in New Jersey and beyond.

Program Features

  • Early exposure to primary care settings from the first semester and the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with a group of patients followed in a PatientCentered Medical Home.

  • Early mentorship with faculty and residents as well as a dedicated faculty director who will provide guidance and support during the program.

  • Specially designed courses to enhance students’ clinical skills as well as understanding of the complex social and public health landscape faced by primary care physicians.

  • Conditional acceptance to Cooper Primary Care Internal Medicine or Pediatrics Residency. PC-3 students will save a year of medical school tuition as well as avoid the need for the residency application, interview and match process.
