Consortium Annual Meetings and Symposia
The first CAMPP meeting in summer of 2015 introduced our diverse programs to one another and determined goals we wanted to accomplish as a consortium. Each program prepared presentations that described a SWOT analysis of their programs, top challenges and outcome metrics they planned to study. Sessions on competency and assessment and shared data and evaluation plans were held.
In 2016, our first symposium entitled “Core Competencies across the UME-GME continuum: How to Assess and Track" was attended by over fifty deans and faculty from academic medical centers across North America. The symposium invited national leaders across several agencies including the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Medical Association (AMA) (Eric Holmboe, MD, senior vice president of milestone development and evaluation for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, Stan Hamstra, PhD, vice president for milestone research and evaluation for the ACGME and Susan E. Skochelak, MD, MPH, group vice president for medical education of the American Medical Association) to give their opinions on how to harmonize medical education in the future to ensure that students are competent adaptive learners. The symposium focused on using technology and data to make entrustment decisions.
